We decided to stay over night at a hotel not far from the airport so the Monday would not be too much of a long day. It was a very nice start to the holiday as we didn’t have to rush or be stressed out on the Monday morning and we avoided an early start as we had already checked in online.
I was surprised at how smooth everything went; we took the car to be parked, then got a transfer to the airport where we dropped off our bags. Now we were all ready to explore the duty free shopping within an hour of parking the car. This was great as I love Gatwick, there’s loads of shops to wander around. continue reading…
Marie & Steph’s Antigua Fam Trip Nov 2011
St James’s Club
After a scrumptious breakfast in the Virgin lounge and a few glasses of bubbly we set on our way to board our Virgin flight to Antigua which was very comfortable and gave us all a chance to get to know each other. We landed in Antigua and had a short journey to the St James’s Club where we were greeted by Prince, the Guest Service manager, who was very pleasant and offered us rum punch which was very strong and went down well. We were taken to our rooms in a golf buggy which was a new thing to me and gave us a few laughs.
I was very impressed with the Beachfront room which had direct access to the beach from the patio area which; it was lovely hearing the ocean from the room. The rooms themselves were lovely and spacious and decorated very nicely; they also had a lovely big bathroom. After a quick shower and change we all meet at Piccolo Monodo restaurant which had a very romantic and beautiful ambience and had a very varied menu, including Italian dishes and Caribbean dishes. We were joined by Prince the Guest Service Manager, who hosted our dinner and gave us a feel for the hotel and Antigua. After dinner we retired to the docksider bar for a few drinks and dance, we then head off to bed after an exhausting day. continue reading…
Antigua Weddings Fam Trip
This was a trip that I was really looking forward to. I had visited Antigua only on a cruise ship before and liked what I saw. I flew out from London Gatwick with Virgin and was really surprised that the flight only took us 7 hours and 50 minutes. The heat hit us as we disembarked the plane and I couldn’t wait to check into our first resort. continue reading…
Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Board Fam Trip 2010
“The beach is just the beginning…”
Never has there been a truer phrase spoken.
During the month of March 2010, I was kindly invited by the Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Board to visit their lovely islands and to experience everything they have to offer.
I was soon able to discover that there is so much more to Antigua & Barbuda than those 365 magnificent beaches for which the islands are famous during our one week stay. continue reading…
Antigua Fam Trip 2009
I am a beach lover and love this place 365 beaches and all are stunning with some fabulous reefs for snorkelling or diving.
In my opinion the best 4 beaches are -
- Half Moon Bay
- Dickenson Bay
- Long Bay
- Pigeon Point
Antigua is a relaxed intimate caribbean island where the weather remains warm and dry for most of the year and ’beach life and watersports’ is what it’s all about. Yachting and sailing facilities are fabulous and Antigua hosts many international yachting events and regattas throughout the year. We hired a ‘dingy’ for the day and sought out a secluded cove to achor for a wonderful day of peace and quiet. continue reading…
