The infinity pool at Dreams Riviera Cancun

I arrived into Cancun airport on October 8th very tired after a long flight. I was not quite sure what Dreams Riviera was going to be like as it had only opened a few days previous to my arrival.

We arrived at the hotel and were instantly greeted with cool towels and champagne. Upon walking into the lobby area it was quite obvious that they had really taken the time in the design of the property as it was stunning and looked very oriental in style. Once we had checked into the hotel we got taken to our room, we had a preferred club Ocean View room with outside Jacuzzi and our own plunge pool. I was really surprised how big the plunge pool was but wouldn’t recommend it for families with very young children as there is no guard around the pool. continue reading…

Excellence Playa Mujeres Site Inspection

Click here to book Excellence Playa Mujeres from £1269pp

I stayed at the Excellence Playa Mujeres for seven nights in September 2009. The hotel is modern and beautifully designed.

One of many sculptures dotted around Excellence Playa Mujeres

The room was great, identical to those shown on the Blue Bay Travel website, with a four poster bed and Jacuzzi bath. As we were a part of the ‘Excellence Club’ the mini bar included four bottles of spirits as well as the standard fridge stocked with wine, beers, water, fruit juices and fizzy drinks. Being a part of the Excellence Club provided us with an express, personalised check in service, the use of the Excellence Lounge, 24 hour concierge service and use of the Excellence Club private beach area and pools.

The Excellence Lounge was a lovely idea as it provided computers with internet access, had a small bar area and hot buffet style snacks which were regularly changed throughout the day. Unfortunately due to the location of our room (we were in block 9) we did not make good use of the Excellence lounge as it seemed pointless walking past several bars, restaurants and reception (with internet access) to get there. continue reading…

Sandals & Beaches Jamaica Fam Trip 2009

After taking a short domestic flight from Manchester Airport I arrived at London Gatwick where I transferred from the North terminal by a short shuttle bus journey to the South Terminal where Virgin Atlantic are based.

Barbados Fam Trip

Having arrived at London Gatwick in the very early hours of the morning and meeting my travel companions, I was ecstatic to find out that I had been upgraded to “club class”  When we had boarded the aeroplane we were shown to our seats and greeted with glass of champagne.

The next 8 hours 35minutes flew by. The staff and service, not to mention the extra space on the aircraft were second to none and I would definitely recommend an upgrade.

Arriving at Grantley Adams International Airport, Barbados the weather could not have been more perfect. We travelled 35minutes by coach to the Tamarind Cove situated on the west coast.  The Tamarind Cove has an inviting Caribbean charm as soon as you enter and the pristine beach with crystal clear waters was to die for. continue reading…

My Barbados Experience

We checked in at Gatwick’s North Terminal for our flight to Barbados. Needless to say, I was excited at having been upgraded to British Airways’ Club World. My Club World experience started smoothly, no check-in queues, cases tagged and dispatched within minutes and then directed to the executive lounge to relax before the flight. continue reading…
