Overview

The kingdom of Thailand lies in the heart of Southeast Asia, making it a natural gateway to Indochina, Myanmar and Southern China. Its shape and geography divide into four natural regions : the mountains and forests of the North; the vast rice fields of the Central Plains; the semi-arid farm lands of the Northeast plateau; and the tropical islands and long coastline of the peninsula South.

Beaches

There is no doubt that the kingdom of Thailand has some of the best beaches in the region, if not the world. White or golden sand, set against turquoise blue or green water against a backdrop of towering cliffs or palms. Most beaches offer a range of activities, all available for a moderate cost. In addition, from many beaches you can go on tours of local islands. With inviting ocean waters and the stunning scenery that frames it all, you'll find coastal Thailand irresistibly perfect and with a surprise around every corner

Cuisine

Thai food is known for its enthusiastic use of fresh herbs and spices as well as fish sauce. Steamed rice is accompanied by highly aromatic curries, stir-frys and other dishes, incorporating sometimes large quantities of chillies, lime juice and lemon grass. Curries, stir-frys and others may be poured onto the rice creating a single dish called khao rad gang , a popular meal when time is limited. Noodles, known throughout parts of Southeast Asia by the Chinese name kwaytiow, are popular as well but usually come as a single dish.

Health

No inoculations or vaccinations are required. However, if visitors are expecting to visit remote areas, typhoid and hepatitis B vaccinations are advisable, as well as precautions against malaria. Thailand has one of the best medical services of any country in Asia. Both private hospitals and government-run hospitals give quick and efficient services to tourists.

Climate

It's tropical which, for all of Thailand's main resort areas, means an average annual temperature of 28C. Even in the rainy season showers are usually short and sharp (and warm) followed by more sunshine. Overall best time to visit is November to March when days are mostly dry and the humidity lower, although Koh Samui is best from June to September.Thailand's climate is perfect for holidaymakers and perfect for flowers and fruits as well; two more reasons to visit Thailand!
