A superb introduction to the splendours of Kenya, visiting a variety of key national parks and game reserves along a classic safari circuit. Accommodation in memorable locations includes a special overnight stay at Treetops.
Treetops is one of the most famous game viewing lodges in the world. It overlooks a water hole and salt lick high in the Aberdare National Park. The lodge rises straight out of the ground on stilts, and open balconies are the ideal vantage points for viewing and photographing game.
Keekorok Lodge was the first lodge built in the Masai Mara and is in a prime position to enjoy the wildebeest migration.
This itinerary takes in either Lake Nakuru or Lake Naivasha where a variety of birds and numerous bright pink flamingoes often entertain.
Time spent in Samburu and the Mara completes the itinerary on this safari, which represents excellent value for money.

Fly from Heathrow overnight to Nairobi.
DAY 2 SATURDAY OR MONDAY - NAIROBI
On arrival transfer to your hotel for a day at leisure or choose from a selection of optional excursions (book and pay locally).

DAY 3 SUNDAY OR TUESDAY - SAMBURU
Drive north across the equator to the Samburu National Reserve (360 km) and check in to your lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive. (b,l,d)

Samburu Game Lodge 
LOCATION
Overlooking the Nyiro River, this purpose built lodge is in the heart of Samburu National park, & in the hot and arid fringes of Kenya's vast Northern Frontier District.
FACILITIES
Offers a dining room, a lounge & two bars. Leisure facilites include a swimming pool, jacuzzi, game drives, leopard & crocodile viewing, Samburu dancers & a shop.
ACCOMMODATION

Against a backdrop of volcanic mountains, gaunt hills and withered scrub trees, this lodge blends in perfectly with the natural environment, using native materials and surrounded by lush gardens.
DAY 4 MONDAY OR WEDNESDAY - SAMBURU
Morning and late afternoon game drives in this open savannah which is traversed by the Uaso Nyiro River. The river is populated by hippos and crocodiles, whilst the park is home to a host of animals including several species which are rarely seen in numbers elsewhere including Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffes and long-necked gerenuks. DAY 5 TUESDAY OR THURSDAY - ABERDARES
Drive south into the Aberdares (220 km) and take lunch at the Outspan Hotel. Transfer to Treetops (please limit your luggage to an overnight bag - the remainder can be stored at Outspan. Bathroom facilities are shared). (b,l,d)
Treetops 
LOCATION
Placed in the path of an ancient elephant migratory route between the Aberdare ridges & Mt Kenya National Park, & strategically sited right in front of a watering hole & salt lick.
FACILITIES
Offers a restaurant, lounge & two bars. Leisure facilities include viewing points from the lodge, game drives*, photographic hides, a Treetops lecture & a full day trip to the moorlands*.

In the magnificent Aberdare National Park, this world renowned rustic treehouse is legendary for its historical royal connection, for the animals it attracts and for the sheer joy of exploring a tree house visited by rhinos, elephants, buffalos, bushbucks, waterbucks and many others.
DAY 6 WEDNESDAY OR FRIDAY - LAKE NAKURU OR NAIVASHA
An early morning transfer to Outspan Hotel for breakfast and to collect your luggage. Descend into the Great Rift Valley and continue on to Lake Nakuru for an afternoon game drive. Overnight at Lake Nakuru or Lake Naivasha. (b,l,d)

Lake Nakuru Lodge

Situated in the southeast ecological niche of the Lake Nakuru National Park.

Keekorok Lodge 
This lodge was the first of its kind to be built in Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve. It has recently been refurbished and attains the highest standard of comfort and luxury, yet still retains its intrinsic 40 years of history, tradition, character and charm.
There's always plenty of activity around the waterhole but during the migration, the lodge is enveloped by the swarming mass of animals.

DAY 9 SATURDAY OR MONDAY - EXTENSION OR HEATHROW
After breakfast, return to Nairobi (300 km), proceed with your chosen beach extension (see opposite) or return to Heathrow. (b)
